1. Why are details of CAP payments being published on this website?

   This information is provided in accordance with EU Regulation No. 1306/2013 and Commission Regulation No. 908/2014, which require the UK and EU Member States to publish details of recipients of CAP scheme payments on a single national website. Following the UK’s exit from the EU, the CAP (including the above Regulations) continued to apply in respect of 2014-20 Rural Development Programmes until their closure on 31 December 2023. In addition, this website includes details of UK-funded agricultural support payments made under retained EU regulations, such as the Basic Payment Scheme. The requirement to publish these was transposed into UK legislation by Statutory Instruments made under the European Union (Withdrawal) Act 2018.

2. What information is contained on this website?

   The details included relate to all CAP scheme payments, both those funded by the EU and those UK-funded payments for schemes run under retained EU legislation, that were made to beneficiaries during the periods 16 October 2021 to 15 October 2022 and 16 October 2022 to 15 October 2023.

   For 16 October 2021 – 15 October 2022 and 16 October 2022 – 15 October 2023, Direct Aid and Market Measure payments were UK funded and paid under retained EU legislation. Most Rural Development payments continue to be EU funded under the terms of the Withdrawal Agreement.

   Information is being published for all beneficiaries who receive more than the equivalent of €1,250, with additional information concerning the schemes or measures on which subsidy has been paid. Information for any beneficiary receiving €1,250 or less will be published, but with the beneficiary’s name removed.

3. Can I see which payments were EU funded and which were UK funded?

   On the search results page, click on the “details” link for each beneficiary. If the payment was UK funded it will be indicated in the measure description.

4. Why has the threshold for anonymity been set at €1,250?

   This is in line with EU and UK legislation. For practical purposes this has been converted to £1,114. This is based on the Euro exchange rates for BPS payments paid in 2020, the last year of EU funding. This scheme accounts for the largest share of CAP payments.

5. I thought there were different rules for the publication of payments made to Legal Entities and Natural Persons?

   This was a requirement under the previous EU legislation when only details of payments to Legal Entities were published. The revised EU Regulations require payments to all recipients to be published, regardless of status. However those receiving less than €1,250 (£1,114) have their details anonymised.

6. How often will the data on the website be updated?

   Information will be published no later than 31st May each year for payments made to UK beneficiaries in the preceding CAP financial year (16 October to 15 October). The legal rules require that information will remain on the website for a period of two years from its initial publication.

7. What fields can I search by?

   You can search for data using any of the following criteria:

   • Beneficiary name
   • Town/City
   • Post Code
   • Amount received by payment category
   • Amount received by measure or scheme
   • Paying Agency
   • EU financial year
8. Do I need to fill in all of the search criteria to obtain details of payment amounts?

   No. You can search using any one or more of the search criteria.

9. What should I do if my search does not provide any results?

   You should check the accuracy of the search information you have entered and if necessary broaden your search by changing the search criteria used.

10. Do I need to enter a full name to find details of payments?

    No. You can search using full or partial name details (e.g. Jack Jones Limited; Jack Jones or Jones Limited). Use the “Contains” option for the best results.

11. Do I need to enter a full postcode?

    If you search by postcode you can use either a full postcode (e.g. PO16 7DZ) or partial postcode, such as postcode sector (e.g. PO16 7), postcode district (e.g. PO16) or postcode area (e.g. PO).

12. Can I print the results of my search?

    Yes. You can print your search results using your browser Print button.

13. What level of detail will the search results display?

    The fields displayed will show the following details in line with the regulatory requirements:

    • Beneficiary name
    • Town/City
    • Post Code District
    • Amount paid by scheme type
    • Paying Agency responsible for accounting for the amount

14. The website says I have received more money than I was actually paid; why is that?

    The details included relate to all CAP scheme payments made to beneficiaries during the financial years 16 October 2021 to 15 October 2022 or 16 October 2022 to 15 October 2023.

    Any payments received between these dates will be included, but the amounts may not take account of any subsequent changes or adjustments made to payments by your Paying Agency.

15. Why am I unable to find details of the payment I received on the website?

    You may wish to check the accuracy of the search information you have entered and if necessary broaden your search. If you are still unable to find the details you require, you may wish to contact the Paying Agency responsible for accounting for the payments. 16. What do the headings “direct aids”, “market schemes” and “rural development measures” cover?

    'Direct aids' cover those schemes, including the Basic Payment Scheme, under which farmers and growers are paid subsidies directly. 'Market schemes' relate to agricultural market support such as production aids, export refunds and costs associated with public and private storage of products.

    'Rural Development measures' cover agri-environmental schemes and other measures under the UK's four Rural Development Programmes. This heading, also known as 'Pillar 2' of the CAP, is paid from the European Agricultural Fund for Rural Development (EAFRD).

17. I understand that some CAP payments are jointly paid for by EU and UK funding. How are such payments shown on the website?

    These are known as co-financed payments and mostly concern Rural Development measures. For these payment types, the website shows the total amounts received by the beneficiary, not just the EU financed element.

18. How are payments that were made to beneficiaries in Euros shown?

    Payments that were made to beneficiaries in Euros have, for the purpose of consistency on this website, been converted into the equivalent Sterling value.

19. I am interested in payments made in EU Member States. Where can I access these?

20. Who should I contact if I have a question about the payment information contained on this website?

22. What do payments for Technical Assistance cover?

    Such payments are shown on the website under the headings “Technical assistance” or “Technical assist”. They are amounts paid to administrative bodies from the EAFRD Fund to assist with costs associated with running aid schemes under their respective Rural Development Programmes.

23. Why is this website closing?

    The final publication on this website for CAP payments will be made in May 2025 for data for the year 16 October 2023 to 15 October 2024. This is because the last EU-funded payments will be made during this period and the UK will no longer be required to publish data on a single UK website, however data will continue to remain on this website for two years following publication.
